Q 61:- Recently the Supreme Court said that, it may consider setting up of a committee of experts to examine whether the execution of death penalty convicts by hanging was proportionate and less painful. In this light, state your opinion on the execution of death penalty.

• The Union government has expressed its support for retaining hanging as the accepted mode of execution, arguing that it is neither cruel nor inhuman and that a well-established procedure is in place.
